Two women aged 25 and 27 died yesterday of drowning on the Costa do Sol beach, where they had gone to pray with other members of their church.
The body of one of the victims, 25-year-old Dulce João Tovela, was found this morning by the Maritime and Coastal Police patrol and removed by the Criminal Investigation Services (SERNIC) team for delivery to health authorities.
Maritime and Coastal Police and SERNIC teams confirmed to our reporter that they had found the body of the other victim, who died in the same incident.
Elísio Tovela, the brother of one of the victims, who was on the beach as police were removing his sister’s body, said the young women lived in Polana Caniço A, block 73, and had gone to the beach yesterday as part of a church prayer group, adding that he did not know what circumstances could have led to their drowning.
