The role of cities in the 21st century and the practice and responsibility of architects in society will be the focus of a meeting of Portuguese-speaking architects in Maputo on Friday and Saturday.
The 6th forum of the International Council of Portuguese-Speaking Architects (CIALP) will reflect on “the challenges of the city and metropolisation in the Portuguese-speaking world”, and continue preparing for the 27th UIA meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2020.
The meeting will be attended by UIA chairman, Thomas Vonier, and the chairman of the Union of African Architects, Kaiso Kalambo, with contributions from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Portugal, Macao and Mozambique, where, at the beginning of the year, the formal constitution of the architects’ association was published.
