Some inhabitants of the village of Iba, Meluco district, in Cabo Delgado province, are demanding the dismissal of the administrator, Mobiro Namiva, for allegedly not respecting the will of the people.
The request for the dismissal of the administrator is an old one, but was again officially presented to the governor during his recent visit to Iba village in the Muaguide Administrative Post.
“When we give advice our administrator does not want to accept, he says that he was appointed by the President of the Republic,” Meluco resident Mussa Incacha says.
Governor of Cabo Delgado Julio Parruque, neither accepted nor granted the request, but promised to analyse the case.
“No one will be arrested or persecuted for speaking at the rally, we have to speak the truth, with respect,” Parruque said.
This is the second time that the population of Meluco has publicly asked for the removal of an administrator for alleged abuse of power.
