Mozambique: Businessmen from Rwanda and Kenya invest in Cabo Delgado

The Minister of Industry and Commerce, Regendra de Sousa, today opened in Cabo Delgado, Pemba’s newest and most modern motor car sales business park, owned by Zohra Group, representative of the Ronil Group in the province.
This US$500,000 project included the construction of a large, sophisticated showroom consisting of a sales stand and full workshop representing Hyundai, Mazda, Honda, Renault and Yamaha brands, built to the highest standards in customer service. The 2,200 m2 building also houses offices and shops.
The Zohra Group’s venture led to the creation of 21 jobs in vehicle sales and the workshops, plus another 90 jobs in the quarry.
Speaking about the Zohra Group’s efforts to ensure that the Mozambican market is ready to satisfy foreign demand, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Regendra de Sousa said: “This stand we are opening today is reborn and gives undoubted sense to the resumption of growth and investment. Above all, we have one more economic agent capable of expanding this experience to other cities and towns in the province.”
Speaking at the opening, CTA President Agostinho Vuma – who is currently also President of the Lusophone Agricultural Chamber – added: “We must praise the creativity and dynamism of the Zohra Group, which in the same year managed to open two car sales and rental agencies, bringing wealth creation and strengthening the local business fabric.”
Representing the Provincial Government of Cabo Delgado, Permanent Secretary António Domingos Mapure praised the Zohra Group as a catalyst for the economy, promoting new vehicle sales and fostering business and job creation for local labour.
Zuneid Satar, managing director and founder of the Zohra Group, said: “This achievement is the result of a strategy based on pillars such as customer focus and the search for tailor-made solutions, all with a team of excellence, professional management and quality”.
The group currently has a total of 181 employees, and dealerships in Tete, where the largest and most modern business park of Mozambique was opened by President Nyusi on June 11 during his visit to the province.
Zohra Group is a Mozambican company headquartered in Tete and active in the automotive industry since 2011. The group sells cars and accessories and repairs cars.
