Mozambican authorities have identified the official who issued a false passport to Mohamed Assif Abdul ‘Nini’ Satar.
Without giving her name, “Noticias” yesterday revealed that she is an employee of the Migration Service in Maputo, and issued a false passport in the name of Sahime Mohammad Aslam.
The woman was identified following a National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) investigation. Judicial authorities had previously said that they were awaiting the repatriation of Nini Satar before further clarifying the issuing of the passport in his possession when he was arrested in Thailand, where he spent the last three years, on 25 July.
Maputo City Judicial Court was expected to legalise the arrest of Nini Satar, who was repatriated to Mozambique last Wednesday, on Monday of this week.
For security reasons, this will be done in Machava Penitentiary, where Satar is currently being held, and from where he was paroled in 2014.
The legalisation of imprisonment is related to the kidnappings Satar is indicted with and which are being processed by the Attorney General’s Office and the Judicial Court of the City of Maputo. Satar will also have his situation regarding the fraudulent obtaining of the passport regularised.
