President Nyusi is paying a three-day visit to the Netherlands from tomorrow at the invitation of King Willem-Alexander. The president has invited Daviz Simango to join his delegation, which includes Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Oldemiro Baloi, Transport and Communications, Carlos Mesquita, Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Carlos Bonete Martinho, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ragendra de Sousa, First Lady Isaura Nyusi and a number of businesspeople.
In addition to experience in agriculture and livestock, the Netherlands has extensive experience in coastal protection works relevant to the city of Beira, which is threatened by rising sea levels and urgently needs work to combat high tides. This may be the reason behind Daviz Simango’s inclusion, which is the first since opposition parties run local authorities in Mozambique.
In the Netherlands, President Nyusi will be received by King Willem-Alexander and will hold official talks with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The president will also meet with various governors, parliamentarians, senators, members of the Chamber of Deputies, visit scientific, financial institutions, and various socio-economic enterprises and participate in a Mozambique-Netherlands business forum.
