Nampula Province needs 7,500 more classrooms to address large class numbers, Governor Victor Borges has said.
To eliminate the use of poorly built classrooms and put an end to open-air classes, a further 5,500 classrooms are needed.
“We know the situation,” Nampula governor Victor Borges says. “We are looking for financing; we have to find resources, either internal or from partners, to get to the point of not using ramshackle classrooms any more. And there are 250,000 students who need 60,000 desks. Of these, 42,500 have already arrived and are being allocated to the schools. These will help towards getting all the school kids in Nampula off the ground.”
