Mozambique: North region seeing 50 new cholera cases per day - health authority

Students still living in the university residences at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in Maputo are at loggerheads with the institution since the university ordered them to leave the residences to help prevent the spread of the new Covid-19 coronavirus.
This Monday morning, a group of about 50 students gathered in one of the university residences at Eduardo Mondlane University for a peaceful demonstration in protest at the closure of the student residences.
There are a total of eight university residences. The Directorate of Social Services of UEM issued the notice advising the closure of residences, but claimed to have no formal knowledge of the students objections.
Of the 1,116 students living in these residences, around 800 have already left to go home, while 289, of which the protesting students form a part, are still in the process [of leaving].
