President Filipe Nyusi this morning laid the first stone for the construction of a building to house the Ministry of the Interior’s new public security management information system.
The centre will contribute to combating crimes such as kidnappings, terrorism and transnational crimes, among others.
In a context in which the country is struggling with violent crime such as terrorism, kidnappings, human trafficking, human organ trafficking and drug trafficking, among others, Mozambique is to get a dedicated public security management information system at police headquarters in Maputo.
The project is nationwide in scope, with construction of buildings planned in Maputo and Nampula provinces.

What is known so far is that US$11 million has been invested, with finance from the Korean Import and Export Bank.
The construction of the building in the PRM command precinct in Maputo will last 16 months, that is, until December, 2025.
The public security management system is expected to contribute to improving public security in the country.
