Mozambique: Cahora Bassa electricity production hits five-year high in 2023

The Mozambican National Hydrocarbons Company (ENH) announced yesterday that Maputo will host an international meeting analysing the future of the oil and gas industry in Mozambique on Thursday and Friday.
The meeting will take place at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Centre in Maputo, and involve the government, industry stakeholders, partner companies and financial institutions, and is sponsored by international companies linked to the sector – ExxonMobil, Anadarko, Mozambique LNG, BP, TechnipFMC, Sasol, Siemens, Baker Hughes GE, Air Products, Subsea7 and Enmar.
Among others, the meeting will discuss topics such as the situation of the oil and gas industry in Mozambique, the government’s priorities in attracting investment in the sector, priority projects, prospective new areas of research and production of oil and gas and of transforming Mozambique into a Southern Africa gas and energy hub.
The opening ceremony will be led by Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Mozambican Energy, Augusto de Sousa Fernando.The meeting is preceded on Wednesday by the Local Content Day to allow reflection on the latest developments and perspectives of legislation and participation of local companies in the national oil and gas industry value chain.
