Tete province expects this year to start exporting, from its Changara district, up to 50,000 tons of manganese ore per month, mainly to markets in India, China and Thailand.
First exports were initially scheduled for June, but the actual date will depend on the arrival of certain processing machinery, said Carlos Matos, representative of Enterprise Group Investment, the company executing the project.
Matos further made it known that the company also planned this year to start processing copper, another ore abundant in Tete province.
