Mozambique: Chinese man sentenced to 18 years for the kidnapping of fellow citizen - Carta
Two women lost their lives last Saturday (March 26) as a result of a terrorist attack in Alberto Chipande village (also known as Nachipande), in Mueda district, northern Cabo Delgado.
Carta de Moçambique sources say the victims were murdered as they were fleeing from terrorists who had burst into the village in search of food.
The same sources report that the terrorists looted all the food products in the village, but did not burn down any huts.
The occurrence was also reported by ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project), a non-profit organisation specialising in data collection, analysis, and crisis mapping.
In its publication, ACLED also reports a terrorist attack on the village of Naida, also in Mueda district, on the 24th of March, but without advancing information on any damage resulting from this action.
Nangade district, which neighbours Mueda, remains tense because of constant terrorist movement. In recent days, a group has been seen patrolling in the densely forested lower regions of the district, which is considered especially difficult to access during the rainy season.
