Russia will support the digitization of the Mozambican parliament and grant more scholarships to Mozambican students.
The offer was made by the Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, when she was received yesterday at the Assembly of the Republic in Maputo.
Valentina Matviyenko was received with protocol honours at the Assembly of the Republic while on a visit to Mozambique at the invitation of her counterpart, Esperança Bias.
The Russian parliamentary leader held a private meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Republic, and then talks extended to delegations from both sides.
The visitor offered sports and school material to Mozambican children, interacted with deputies in the plenary session room and signed a parliamentary cooperation agreement with the Assembly of the Republic.
Valentina Matviyenko said that Russia hopes to expand its areas of cooperation with Mozambique to more sectors, with emphasis on increasing the volume of trade while also providing support in the fight against terrorism.
