According to residents, there is a growing wave of crime in Matola municipality’s Boquisso B neighbourhood, with bandits beating up, robbing, and even raping their victims.
The Boquisso B residents of speak of disturbed nights, with unidentified bandits roaming unimpeded in a neighbourhood that lacks almost everything – electricity, water, access roads…
The nights here have become a nightmare.
The main suspects are the builders in the area working on houses. “In the dead of night, they abandon the work sites and come to rob us,” residents say.
The nights are pitch black because of the lack of electricity, giving the criminals free reign.
