Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário is , since Sunday, attending the 33rd Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he is representing President Nyusi.
The African Union summit is taking place under the theme: “Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa’s Development”.
Prime Minister do Rosário has so far participated in the summit’s opening ceremony, and on Sunday afternoon in the inauguration of the new Africa Intelligence and Security Services Committee headquarters.

Economic strengthening through the continental free trade area and the development of agriculture are a primary focus of the summit.
The 33rd AU summit ends this Monday with the presentation of reports by heads of state and government. Accompanying the prime minister are the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, and the Minister of the Interior, Amade Miquidade.
