Mozambique offers “excellent opportunities” for foreign direct investment

Prime Minister, Carlos Agostinho do Rosario, is participating from today in the second edition of the Africa Investment Forum in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Mozambique is presenting development projects in the gas and agriculture sectors.
The second Africa Investment Forum will discuss and propose an agenda for the continent’s economic transformation and promoting changes in capital flows to Africa. Financing projects will be presented, as participants seek to accelerate negotiations and conclude financial agreements.
Continental leaders, global investors, businesspeople and leading banks such as the African Development Bank, the European Bank and the Asian Bank will all be sitting at the same table.
Looking ahead to Mozambique’s participation, the minister said that the second Africa Investment Forum would bear tangible results for Mozambique.
Mozambique, he said, was discussing with investors the possibility of completing the cotton value chain in Marracuene, rice production in the lower Zambezia, the sugar sector, the textile sector – with a focus on revitalising Textáfica – and tourism and infrastructure.
