Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has again issued a strong warning to the management of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) about the need to avert every form of misconduct, according to a report in Monday’s issue of the Maputo daily “Noticias”.
Speaking on Saturday at the inauguration of the INSS delegation in Buzi district, in the central province of Sofala, Nyusi said that the management’s foremost goal must be the achievement of results and not misconduct.
“You must be driven by values of integrity, so that we do not have to discuss corruption in a public institution. You must also be intolerant against nepotism, poor service delivery and bad behaviour,” Nyusi declared, urging the management to pay attention to sustainable and profitable investments to boost the social security system.
He also recommended that the management ensure the expansion of the INSS services across the country. The institution should be committed to inclusiveness and modernization, and should not serve as a space to harbour people who do not have a business mindset.
After the Buzi delegation, Sofala has now three INSS district representations and four others are in the pipeline for Nhamatanda, Chemba, Caia and Chibabava.
