Former Mozambican president Joaquim Chissano said on Monday that Mozambicans should focus on the election campaign, and blames recent violence on people of bad character.
Chissano believes that things should go well from now until voting day. “Those who do violent things are bad people, not good people. I still think we will reach the end of the campaign and hold the elections,” he said.
The former president asked all Mozambicans to cooperate in order for things to turn out for the best.
“Bad people can’t stop us from doing what is good. Let us focus on the campaign and not let ourselves be distracted. Let all parties and citizens work together for the best!” Chissano said.
