As a result of revisions of the organic statute of the INGC approved yesterday by the Cabinet in Maputo, the National Institute for Disaster Management (INGC) will from now on manage all natural disaster funds, spokesperson for the 28th session of the Council of Ministers Ana Comoana has announced.
“Consideration should be given to the introduction of new areas of activity, such as the Internal Control Office and the Financial Management Unit. The decree also defines as innovations, the management of funds intended to respond to the natural disasters which may occur, but also the specific management of the disaster management fund itself, recently created by decree No. 53/2017 of 18 October,” she said.
The Council of Ministers also yesterday adopted a resolution ratifying the constitution of the African Ministerial Conference on Meteorology adopted in Cape Verde in 2015.
The Cabinet welcomed reports of Mozambique’s participation in the recent 39th Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in Dar-Es-Salam, Tanzania, and on the official visit of President Filipe Nyusi to Russia last week.
