Under its rotating presidency of SADC, and with a view to the economic promotion of the country and region, Mozambique hosts, on June 22 and 23, at the AFECC Gloria Hotel and the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre, the SADC Business Forum and Expo.
The SADC Business Forum, in addition to being an integrated competitive and entrepreneurial corporate platform for Mozambique and the potential of the southern African region on a global scale, is also a mechanism for dialogue between the public and private sectors.

The SADC Business Forum is the first and one of the largest entrepreneurship, opportunity and investment events in the southern African region.
The SADC Business Forum (FNSADC) is an initiative of the SADC and the Government of Mozambique. It was assumed as a commitment during the 40th Virtual Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government in Maputo, Mozambique,on August 17, 2020, under the motto “SADC: 40 Years Building Peace and Security, Promoting Development and Resilience in the Face of Global Challenges”.
Strategic Areas:
Realisation of the SADC International Expo focusing on projects and investment funds, boosting the regional business ecosystem and economic agro-business clusters; Industry; Tourism; Logistics, Corridors and Infrastructure (including Information and Communication Technologies – ICTs) and Energy.
Integrated Planning and Opportunity
The holding of the SADC Business Forum is part of the Integrated Operational Roadmap prepared and coordinated by MINEC, which at the political-economic level has planned 19 meetings (between technical and Ministerial level) and strategically follows a corporate approach of complementarity and maximization strategy of programs and mechanisms for promotion and economic support whose implementation is the responsibility of other Ministries and local Governments, which are, for example, local fairs, business promotion and distinction events, program launch events, business inauguration events, regional and international investment forums and conferences, among other events planned and to be held throughout the country.
The SADC Business Forum, in addition to achieving one of the objectives of the Mozambican presidency’s operational agenda in promoting gains for the national business community in line with the approved and in use motto, is also a result of the strategic approach of economic diplomacy that has in view of economic disclosure, competitive development and the improvement of the country’s trade balance (with an impact on the provinces of reference). The SADC Business Forum also materializes one of the strategic priorities of the current government cycle, as it is an approach that continues the development of the country (boosting economic growth, productivity and employment generation), thus spilling over the horizon of the SADC presidency and, intending to be part of a strategic action that, in the local, national, regional and global dimension, presents Mozambique especially as a reference country and at the forefront of the potential and effective economic growth and productivity of the southern region.
