Lutero Simango set aside Tuesday to work door-to-door in the village of Inharongué in Búzi district, which holds special significance for him, as it is the homeland of his mother and of his maternal grandparents.

“This is where my mother was born and raised. It is the land of my grandparents. I know the problems of these people. We are going to create a ‘Casa do Agricultor’ to buy produce from small farmers, and also help them develop their machambas [agricultural fields],” he pledged.
Simango said he would not promise to build a sugar processing plant, especially because others have already promised it and have been promising it for 30 years, but to this day nothing has been done.
“Chissano promised, Guebuza did the same, even Nyusi told you in his campaign, but where is the plant?” he asked.
At a rally, Lutero Simango presented himself as the best person to end what he called discrimination against the people in access to opportunities.

“Is nothing reaching you here? Didn’t Idai come here? Did the money arrive? Who took it? Now there is this gas project in Buzi, it’s good, but they are not taking the people of Buzi to work there. That is discrimination. But with the MDM government and Lutero Simango, this will end,” he said.
Simango introduced the MDM party candidate for Governor of Sofala Province, José Domingos, to the public. Among other things, he expressed his indignation at the state of the much-touted road that connects Tica to Buzi, in the interior of the Buzi district, which, although it has not yet been handed over to the government, is already in a state of disrepair in many sections.
The gubernatorial candidate said this was the result of corruption.
“They’ve been talking about Tica-Buzi, where is the road? The one that is already in this state in less than six months? We are going to monitor the works and we are not going to allow poorly done works,” José Domingos asserted.
On Day Four of his campaign, Lutero Simango asked the people of Búzi to trust him and his party.
