The circulation of railcar passenger transport in Marracuene, Boane and Matola Gare in Maputo will follow new timetables from 10 August.
The decision comes two years after the introduction of railcar passenger transport service, and aims to improve service provision and punctuality.
According to a statement from Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM), train number 501, departing from Baixa de Maputo station and heading to Marracuene, will depart at 5:30 pm and arrive at 6:35 pm. In the morning, train number 500 will leave at 6:05 am and arrive at 7:10 am.
Meanwhile, on the Maputo-Matola Gare route, train number 101 will leave the station at 5:37 pm and arrive at Matola Gare at 6:17 pm, completing a 40-minute journey.
In the opposite direction, in the morning, train number 100 will leave Matola Gare at 6:20 am and arrive at 7:00 am.
Finally, on the route between Maputo and Boane, train number 200 will leave the town of Boane at 6:15 am and arrive in Baixa at around 7:20 am. In the afternoon, the train will leave Maputo at 5:15 pm.
