Mozambique: Business leaders want to meet government about wave of kidnappings

At least 20 people died in in 15 accidents on Mozambican roads on the week from the 2nd to the 8th of July
Thirty citizens were seriously injured and eight suffered minor injuries.
There was also a record of substantial material damage resulting from the accidents.
Excessive speed, poor pedestrian crossing on highways, driving under the influence of alcohol and mechanical deficiencies in vehicles continue to be the main causes of road accidents in the country.
The General Command of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) states, in a press release, that in the same week, the corporation inspected 64,644 vehicles, of which 40 were seized for various irregularities. The traffic police confiscated 25 booklets and 241 driving licences and issued 3,375 fines for various infractions.
