The Mozambican National Statistics Institute (INE) is to have 146 employees carrying out the 5th Family Budget Survey (IOF 2019-2020), the institution said on Monday in a statement.
The data collection is to start next Monday and is financed by the World Bank, covering a total of 13,560 households in a representative sample of the national, provincial and local situations, according to INE.
Of the total number of families to be surveyed, 7,152 live in urban areas and 6,408 in rural areas.
The operation involves technicians from different ministries and specialised United Nations agencies to collect data to assess indicators related to the fight against poverty.
The survey will serve to review the set of goods and services and the weighting levels of each one in the calculation of the consumer price index (CPI), an indicator updated monthly by INE and used to measure inflation in the country.
