The national television of Mozambique TVM will for the first time launch an international channel in Portugal, a board member of the television told the national radio station RM on Wednesday.
“Basically the main objective of the expansion to Portugal is to establish a bridge between Mozambicans living here in the country and those living there,” said Marcos.
The channel will be officially launched this Thursday and a senior delegation led by the chairman of TVM’s board of directors Faruco Sadique Ibrahimo is already in Portugal for the ceremony.
According to Marcos, the channel will be available in basic and affordable television signal packages in Portugal and other parts of Europe.
In addition to the lively broadcasting news from Maputo, there are other exclusive programs designed specifically for the international channel to connect with Mozambicans overseas, said the report.
Since Mozambique gained its independence from Portuguese colonial rule in 1975, Portugal has remained a destination for many Mozambicans to study, work and live there.
