The Mozambican government on Tuesday renewed Miguel Matabele’s tenure as president of the Mozambique Railways Company, one of the country’s leading companies, but has terminated the incumbency of Ema Chicoco as president of the Mozambican National Communications Institute (INCM).
Spokeswoman for the Council of Ministers Ana Comoana said that Matabele had been reinstated as chairman of the CFM board on the basis of his performance in his first term, which ended this year.
The CFM, the Mozambican ports and rail system management company, is one of the most important commercial entities in the country, and has seen solid growth in terms of financial results, infrastructure and equipment.
Ana Comoana did not comment on the reasons for the termination of Ema Chicoco’s functions as INCM president.
Mozambique’s Council of Ministers has appointed Américo Muchanga, who has served as Director-General at the INCM, to replace Chicoco.
