Mozambican Airlines (LAM) yesterday appointed João Carlos Pó Jorge general director of the company, “to ensure the normal operation of the company,” a press statement from the operator has announced.
New directors of operations, technical, financial, commercial, human resources, as well as information and supply systems, were also appointed.
The appointment of a new management team follows the dissolution earlier this month of LAM’s Board of Directors, in a context in which the company faced operational difficulties due to financial problems.
Earlier this month, the national carrier cancelled flights for lack of fuel, suppliers having refused further deliveries because of non-payment of invoices.Source: Lusa
