Mozambican border posts will be operating 24 hours a day over the Easter period, starting this Monday and running to the end of the month.
Nationals and foreigners numbering 120,000 are expected to cross national borders over the Easter period, with more than 25,000 additional cars entering the country.
The border crossings at Ressano Garcia – where the schedule was announced – and Ponta de Ouro regularly register the most traffic during these 15 days, and joint command is redoubling its efforts to respond to demand.
A minute’s silence in honour of the victims of Cyclone Idai was observed during the customs officers’ parade accompanying the announcement.
