The National Directorate of Water Resources Management (DNGRH) warns of the occurrence of urban floods in the next 48 hours in at least 37 neighbourhoods of the cities of Maputo and Matola, according to newspaper O País.
According to the DNGRH, the alert results from the forecast of moderate to strong rains in the province of Maputo, which may cause rainwater build-up.
The institution recommends that the population take necessary precautions, such as putting belongings in raised locations.
