Mocímboa da Praia mayor Cheia Carlos Momba has warned state employees who do not comply with the instruction to return to work within the established deadline they will be subject to disciplinary measures.
In a document issued last Thursday, Momba said that state officials and agents should first assemble at Mueda district headquarters, from where there will be transported to Mocímboa da Praia.
However, speaking anonymously, a Mocimboa municipality official said that, despite the threat, some employees were still not willing to return because of the lack of housing, which was affecting almost everyone.
Last week, Governor of Cabo Delgado province Valige Tauabo said that containers would be temporarily used as offices to facilitate the resumption of public services.
