The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MITESS), through the agency of it Central Services of the General Labour Inspectorate, has suspended the activities of SOS Recruitment and Selection company.
The suspension resulted from inspection activities carried out last week, which found that the company’s activities were not in conformity with the law and applicable procedures in Mozambique.
According to the MITESS press release, SOS was operating as a private employment agency without observing the requirements of the Regulation on Private Employment Agencies. The company has been recruiting and hiring workers in Mozambique without authorisation from the minister who oversees labour since 2012.
This behaviour constitutes a serious breach because it directly affects the Labour Administration Body system of control of private employment agencies carried out by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security through the National Employment Institute, the competent and specialised authority in matters of employment, the statement reads.
