Maputo suspends fines… for motorists to park better, for chapas to get licences – City Council

The President of Maputo Municipal Council Rasaque Manhique on Wednesday (10-07) suspended, for a period of 15 days, the fining of motorists, a time to raise awareness on how to better park [their vehicles] in the city
A similar measure exempts semi-collective passenger transporters from fines for 30 days, in order to give them time to regularise their licences.
At the presentation of the new commander to the senior officers of the Municipal Police yesterday, the Mayor of Maputo also urged members of the corporation to position themselves on the streets and avenues of the capital, especially in the city’s downtown (Baixa), to reorganise informal commerce and ensure that the environment is clean, without removing existing sellers, but preventing new outlets from being established.
