Mozambican growth remains resilient, says IMF - AIM

Maputo saw more than 14,000 new jobs in the first quarter of this year, against the 11 ,000 predicted, Governor of Maputo Iolanda Cintura revealed yesterday.
The governor, who is chairman of the Maputo Provincial Forum of Consultation and Social Concertation, said she felt encouraged by the result, which surpassed the target by around 3,000.
The agriculture sector in Maputo had also posted progress, managing to enrol more than 150,000 farmers into the social security system by organising them into associations.
The Maputo Provincial Forum of Consultation and Social Concertation is made up of the Directorate of Labour, Central Trade Union (OTM), the private sector and other entities involved in labour issues.
