Maputo: Fire breaks out at warehouse on Avenida do Trabalho - Watch

On the evening of Monday 5 September, the owner of Loja Universo (a store located on the corner of Avenidas Zedequias Manganhela and Guerra Popular, in Maputo) was abducted by three unidentified individuals. According to an eyewitness, the store owner (identified by one publication as Abdul Satar) was accosted outside his place of work as he walked to his car at approximately 6h30m p.m..
“One of the men was wearing a hood, the other was wearing an outfit that looked like a military uniform. The third
man I did not see well … they were driving in a grey Honda CRV”, said the eyewitness. The source said that the victim attempted to resist, screaming for help. But when passers-by attempted to rescue him, the kidnappers fired live rounds into the air.
The victim’s employee told reporters that this is not the first time that kidnappers have targeted the family, two years ago the victim’s wife was abducted. The employee also mentioned that her boss suffers from a cardiovascular disease, and even had surgery a few months ago.
The kidnappers are still at large and the victim’s whereabouts remain unknown but police has said it is working to solve the case, according to Folha de Maputo .
