In Sofala and Gaza, Frelimo president extols role of party bodies in consolidating peace and promoting development

The President of Frelimo and of the Republic, Comrade Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, working in the provinces of Gaza and Sofala on the 7th to 9th of March, urged party leaders and cadres to be attentive to the organisation and functioning of party structures so that they contribute positively to the process of consolidating peace and development in Mozambique.

Filipe Nyusi said the expansion of the party’s social base through a broad movement to attract more members, and the strengthening of the party’s financial capacity through an adequate quota collection system, should be the focus of party leadership at all levels, this being the only way to overcome, without depending on third parties, all the challenges the party was called upon to face.

In both provinces, the Frelimo president guided sessions with cadres, considering issues related to the political, economic and social life of the country, with the emphasis on satisfying the growing needs of the people.

He reiterated the need for everyone to be involved in the preparation of congresses and conferences of the party and its social organisations, and the forthcoming celebration of Frelimo’s 60th anniversary.
