Inhambane: Two teachers accused of rape and sexual harassment of students

An 18-year-old boy was swept away by a torrent of rainwater during a downpour in Maputo city last Saturday night. The young man fell victim while trying to retrieve a sneaker that was being washed away. His body has not yet been found.
So says the mother whose son has been absent from his family since Saturday.
The incident occurred at the drainage ditch where the EN1 crosses Joaquim Chissano Avenue in Maputo as the 18-year-old was coming home from a party with friends.
The boy’s friends failed to notify the family immediately, reporting him missing only at around 8:00 a.m. the following day. The nearest police station apparently advised the victim’s next of kin to mount their own search operation. will have authorised the victim’s next of kin to search on their own.
The victim’s relatives complain that the National Public Safety Service did not respond promptly, and later went to the place unprepared to launch a search and rescue operation.
When contacted by our reporters, the National Public Safety Service promised to make a statement soon.
