There are teachers in the district of Muecate, Nampula province, who are disowning their duties and he situation could result in expulsions.
This Monday, February 14, the governor of Nampula, Manuel Rodrigues, went to monitor the beginning of classes in Muecate, only to find that most teachers had not yet resumed activities this school year.
“So the teacher stays at home, spends his life drinking… The teacher has already become a taxi driver, doesn’t go to the classroom anymore. The result is poor performance, and the student harmed. Now, do we have to tolerate undisciplined persons? No! I’m warning you: change your behaviour! In the space of a week! I want to hear that Muecate has changed,” he said.
The director of Education, Youth and Technology services in Muecate confirmed that absenteeism was a problem, even among local managers, a situation he associated with the fact that some of them live in the city of Nampula.
The 2022 school year officially opened on January 31.

Nampula. Professores de Muecate ainda não retomaram actividades
Professores, no distrito de Muecate, em Nampula, estão a dar costas as suas actividades, situação que poderá resultar em expulsões.
Esta segunda-feira, o governador de Nampula, Manuel Rodrigues foi monitorar o início das aulas, no distrito de Muecate, onde constatou que maior parte dos professores ainda não retomou as actividades.
“ então o professor já fica em casa, passa a vida a beber, o professor já virou taxi-motista, já não vai a sala de aula, o resultado: mau aproveitamento e quem fica dejudicado é o aluno. Agora nós temos que tolerar indsciplinados ? isso não ! Estou a avisar, dentro de uma semana mudem de comportamento ! Quero ouvir que Muecate mudou“, disse.
O director do serviço distrital de Educaçao, Juventude e Tecnologia de Muecate, confirmou o problema de acentismo que também inclui gestores, e associa o problema ao facto de alguns destes, residirem na cidade de Nampula.
