When the executive submitted its decentralisation law to the Assembly of the Republic, the budgetary impact was estimated at 59 million meticais. However, because of the dynamics and complexities that implementing the process may present, the government cannot as yet come up with an exact amount, ‘O País’ reports.
“We are working on the budget,” Minister of Economy and Finance Adriano Maleiane told “O País”.
In any case, Maleiane, who was recently reappointed, guarantees that there is money to cover the financial burden of the new Governors and Secretaries of State, and that “conditions exist to move forward with the decentralisation process, without any problems”.
The head of the economy and finance sector added that hoped to see a robust national economy this year, saying, “The prospects are good.”
Adriano Maleiane was speaking after the public presentation by [of] the Secretary of State for the City of Maputo, which he attended as representative of the President of the Republic.
