Mozambican experts will take their master’s degrees in France, in the area of hydrocarbons, under a programme of scholarships estimated to be worth EUR 700,000.
A statement from the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy of Mozambique (MIREME) indicates that the scholarship program will be funded by the French Development Agency (AFD).
The courses will last for three years and are destined for MIREME staff in the oil and gas area.
Mozambican Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Max Tonela and AFD director Julien Darpoux signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the scholarship programme in Maputo yesterday.
“The purpose [of the agreement] is to establish the terms and general conditions and elements of collaboration between MIREME and France, through the French Development Agency and Campus France, in the framework of the implementation of the scholarship program for Mozambican in the areas of oil and gas,” the press release reads.
