PM calls for sustainable management of arid areas at INGC symposium - Mozambique
The foundation stone of the Mozambique-China Cultural Centre was laid on Friday in Maputo at a ceremony attended by officials from the Mozambican government and the Chinese ambassador to Mozambique, Su Jian, the local press reported.
The US$80 million project will be built on an area of 2 hectares, which will also include the future School of Communication and Arts of Eduardo Mondlane University [ECA] and a delegation of the Confucius Institute, linked to the Chinese Ministry of Education and which aims to promote the language and culture of China.
The Mozambique-China Cultural Centre is the result of cooperation agreements signed between Mozambique and China in 2012, with a three-year construction deadline.
Ambassador Su Jian described the project in Maputo as a model centre in Africa, according to radio station Rádio Moçambique.Source: Macauhub
