First Lady Isaura Ferrão Nyusi headed the main International Children’s Day celebrations at the Estrela Vermelha Pavilion in Maputo this morning.
This year, the anniversary is celebrated under the motto “Let’s put an end to premature marriage”, as a way of drawing attention to the need to take responsibility for protecting, educating and enabling children to fully enjoy their rights.
President Nyusi has already sent a message of greetings to all the world’s children, especially Mozambican, in acknowledgement of International Children’s Day.
The president promises that the government will continue to launch interventions in education, training and child development.
