Mozambique: Maputo City Council wants to formalise the 'boleia paga' business
O País
Mozambican Tuna Company (Ematum) workers have been on strike since Monday morning over four months of unpaid salaries.
Workers also allege that two years’ worth of social security instalments have not been paid..
They also complain that they do not know who the current chairman of the company’s board of directors is.
Another concern is the lack of contracts with the employer because, according to the workers, the contract signed said that they were sailors, but now they are considered security guards, since the boats have never made it to sea for the purpose for which they were acquired.
