A cycle of conferences about peace and national reconciliation being held in preparation for Pope Francis’ visit to Mozambique and organised by the Catholic University of Mozambique (UCM) began in Beira on Tuesday where it its first session took place.
The second conference takes place in Nampula this Thursday, and the third and last will be held in Maputo tomorrow.
The conference cycle aims to contribute to an understanding of the significance of the Pope’s visit.
The conferences will focus on three themes: the context of the Pope’s visit to Mozambique; Pope Francis and peace in Mozambique; and the hope set on the Pope’s visit and the reconciliation between Mozambicans.
