A report by online Folha de Maputo brings a different update on the victims of the accident that killed three and not four journalist this morning in Nampula province. Please read below:
Three Mozambican journalists were killed and others seriously injured, following a tragic car accident this morning in the zone of Carapira, in Nampula.
They are Leonardo Gasolina, from newspaper @Verdade, João Inocêncio, from Rádio Moçambique and Arcénio Marques, from Radio Gémeas.
It is assumed that the vehicle with the registration plate AAU, 846 MP, left the city of Nampula to Nacala -a – Velha.
In addition to the journalists, the accident claimed the life of the driver of the vehicle identified only by the name of Fernando.
The wounded are: Esperança Atanásio and Diniz Robati, both from Rádio Gémeas; Sitoe Lucheque and Mussa Marizana, both from TIM, and Junior Alberto from Rádio Indíco. They have been admitted to the local District Hospital.
This is the second road accident involving journalists in less than a month. Two weeks ago, Diário de Moçambique journalist Luis Fernandes died in a brutal accident in Macate District, Manica province.
Club of Mozambique had previously brought a report by Diário da Zambézia containing information that is not confirmed in this more recent Folha de Maputo report and which has since been deleted.
