The 6th National Conference of Civil Society Organisations, which is taking place today and tomorrow at the Kaya Kwanga Complex in Maputo, will see debate on new ways of exercising influence in the country.
The national conference continues the series annual meetings and brings together representatives of various entities, governmental institutions and international partners to “coordinate and concert ideas”, the organisation said in a statement.
The objective is to “strengthen civil society and find ways of bolstering its influence for democracy and the defence of human rights in the country”.
Civil society organisations are to take stock of activities in the country since last year’s conference, including discussions on the interactions between themselves, human rights defenders and government.
