A hearing in the Manuel Chang extradition case had been scheduled for today. If the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court accepts the request for provisional release on bail, the former Mozambican finance minister may be released today.
The session will discuss Chang’s provisional release on bail, a request that had been withdrawn by the defence at the previous hearing. Today’s hearing was scheduled secretly in order to avoid the mass presence of journalists.
Manuel Chang will return to court on February 5, where the decision on his extradition to either the US or Mozambique will be announced.
