Mozambique: Do not underestimate the enemy, says Nyusi - AIM

Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi today dismissed six of his 18 ministers, including Finance and Mineral Resources, it has been announced in a statement.
The communique does not clarify the reasons for the dismissals.
Adriano Afonso Maleiane was dismissed from the post of Minister of Economy and Finance, while Ernesto Max Tonela has left the post of Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy.
Carlos Mesquita was dismissed from the post of Minister of Industry and Commerce, while João Machatine leaves the leadership of the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The above mentioned four members of the Government of the Liberation Front of Mozambique (Frelimo, the party in power since independence) had been accompanying Nyusi ever since his 2015-2020 first presidential term.
Augusta Maita, Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, and Carlos Siliya, Minister of Combatants, were also dismissed.
