The government of Belarus is interested in setting up a tractor assembly factory in Mozambique in the near future, within the scope of cooperation agreements with Mozambique.
Interest was expressed by Igor Brylo, Belarus Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, after visiting a citrus fruit company in Boane, Maputo province.
Brylo said Belarus wanted to explore the production and marketing of milk and banana imports from Mozambique, adding that, beyond the tractor assembly unit and milk production equipment, his country might also be interested in greenhouses.
Brylo explained that, under cooperation agreements between Mozambique and Belarus, the latter would pass on its experience in training agricultural staff, institutional development and other sectors.
The deputy minister’s visit to Mozambique is in preparation for Mozambican head of state Filipe Nyusi’s upcoming visit to Belarus.
