A Latin American man is being held in Maputo on suspicion of being part of a gang involved in the theft of luggage from Maputo International Airport and the capital’s hotels.
The man came to Mozambique to work from Peru. But when his contract ended, he allegedly turned to crime, with two other fellow countrymen.
According to the ‘O País’ newspaper, he has been detained three times before, and had in fact been released from one of the capital’s penal establishments on the 15th of the current month. And, four days later, he returns to the cells.
Police are looking for the two other men of Peruvian origin who are currently at large.Source: Folha de Maputo / O País
