The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Pacheco, says that about 400 Renamo officers have already been integrated into the Defence and Security Forces in the context of implementing the understanding reached between President Nyusi and the Renamo leader.
Speaking on Monday in Maputo at the opening ceremony of the first of the diplomatic consultations between Mozambique and Portugal, Minister Pacheco stressed that the event was taking place at a moment in the national political agenda characterised by significant progress in the context of the political dialogue between the government and Renamo.
Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Portugal, Teresa Ribeiro, said that, in addition to strengthening the friendship between the two states, her six-day visit would strengthen economic cooperation.
Mozambique and Portugal also on Monday signed legal cooperation instruments specifically highlighting the inclusion of Mozambique in Portugal’s compact to finance the development of Portuguese-speaking African countries.Source: Rádio Moçambique
